Laura Matera

Area Director Cape Atlantic / FCA Surf Mid-Atlantic Director |

Laura graduated from Bethany College in 1989, earning an undergraduate degree in Social Work. She went on serve as  Director of the Homeless Families Shelter at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.  Laura married Joe Matera in the 1995. Together they raised 3 daughters while serving in full time ministry, first with Christian Surfers United States (CSUS) and most recently with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
 Laura has experienced FCA ministry as a volunteer, a parent of students involved with FCA Campus ministry, and as a Camp Director with FCA Surf. Her husband Joe went home to heaven after a 2 year battle with Melanoma. Laura has answered the call to full time ministry with FCA  and has a heart for reaching students, athletes, and coaches for Christ, while building leaders and providing the opportunity for growth in body, mind, and spirit.
 Laura has been on staff with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes part time since July 2013 and is currently serving full time as both Cape Atlantic Area Director and FCA Surf Mid - Atlantic Director. She resides in the Upper Township Area with her daughters. 

Kelly Griffith

Administrative Assistant

Kelly Griffith and her husband Brett have been married for 24 years and they have four children.  Kelly has a passion for Christ centered children's ministries and is currently serving as a youth leader at Calvary Chapel Gateway in Northfield, NJ and also as a board member at Chariots for Hope, a Christian orphanage in Kenya. She has also served in various youth ministry roles at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.  Kelly was also on staff At Calvary Christian Academy as a first grade teacher Assistant and substitute teacher for 5 years. Kelly has a BA in Marketing and Business from Rider University and was on of the co-founders of Coldwell Banker Hearthside Realty in Bucks County PA.

Sara Mostafa

Potencial FCA Area Representative

Sara Mostafa was born in Galloway, NJ to a Christian mother and Muslim father. She attended Absegami High School where she played soccer and basketball. Sara was attending a campus huddle when FCA staff person Joe Matera invited her to basketball camp at Kutztown University. sara was granted a full need-based-scholarship to attend camp and ended up giving her heart to Christ that week. Sara was also granted a scholarship to attend leadership camp that summer and served as a campus leader her senior year. She received a full varsity basketball scholarship to The George Washington University where she represented Christ on the court, in the classroom and in the community. Sara earned her Bachelors degree in Public Health and her Masters of Public Health in Environmental Health from GW. She moved back to NJ with a renewed passion, purpose, and desire to serve full time as an FCA Area Representative. “Because of the impact FCA has had on my life, I have an excitement to make an impact through FCA as I minister to coaches and athletes by training and equipping them to be leaders to their peers, teams, schools and communities. I believe these leaders are the next generation of Christ’s Church. My passion is to give back to the communities that poured into me.” Sara is presently raising funding to come on staff full time.

A Leadership Board is a volunteer advisory board of leaders in a community or region who love Jesus Christ, care about coaches and sports, and recognize the incredible platform that athletics provides to impact their area for Jesus Christ.

Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has challenged coaches and athletes to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is cultivating Christian principles in local communities nationwide by encouraging, equipping and empowering others to serve as examples and to make a difference.

FCA reaches approximately two million people annually on the professional, college, high school, middle school and youth levels. Through the passions of athletics and faith, the ministry is changing lives in current and future generations.

FCA’s staff has grown to over 1,100 people in more than 450 offices across the country, and our message is gaining momentum. More and more dedicated supporters and volunteers are sharing their time, talents and beliefs with those longing to be bolstered in faith. FCA’s efforts are focused on our Four C’s of Ministry: Coaches, Campus, Camp, and Community.
